Applications to apply for consideration as an Academy Partnership School during the 2010–2011 school-year will be available here beginning in early 2010.

The Academy—a program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and The Weill Music Institute, in partnership with the New York City Department of Education—selects the finest post-graduate, conservatory-trained classical instrumentalists from across the United States and brings them to New York City to participate in an exciting, fellowship.

An important responsibility of the participants in the fellowship (ACJW Fellows) is to work within the New York City public schools. Beginning in October 2010, will be available for school partnerships in collaboration with your schools' music teacher. Public elementary, middle, and high schools that are within the NYC Department of Education are eligible for this program. Each ACJW Fellow will be matched with one school for a residency consisting of 36 days over the course of the school year.

Preference will be given to schools with a music program that has been in existence for at least two years. Our work with your students and music specialist will incorporate the New York State Standards for Music Education as well as the New York City Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts.
